Hybrid Car Acronyms and Definitions:
  • Carbon Dioxide - CO2. Burning fossil fuels releases carbon that has been stored underground for millions of years into the atmosphere. The carbon in these fossil fuels is transformed into carbon dioxide, the predominant gas contributing to the greenhouse effect, during the combustion process. Large amounts of carbon dioxide are released to the atmosphere by human activities, such as the burning of fossil fuels.
  • LRR - Low Rolling Resistance tires.
  • RXh - Another Acronym which means Lexus RX Hybrid
  • DWL - Driving With Load - keeping a constant pedal pressure/fuel consumption up and down a hill, resulting in reduced speed going up the hill, and restored speed on the opposite (descending) side.
